Bartender Of The Year

Information and greetings from the Swedish Bartenders Guild (SBG)

Running a bartender organisation is, as you all know, a fulltime job. Most of the time it is fun and you have to be dedicated and a little bit crazy... However, to keep the guild running, a lot of the energy goes to find new members and keep the members satisfied.

SBG is now trying to make the organisation more modern and up to date. We have had two very inspired meetings with all of our associated members where we asked them in what way they want our collaboration to get a new start.

The result as a start is to modernise our national competition, Swedish Championship, (SM). We started the work with a changing of the name from SM to Årets Bartender™ (Bartender Of The Year). We also asked an event company to help us whit the competition and there is a lot of ideas that we now will for fill. For example: A complete new homepage, a homepage only for the Bartender Of The Year, new logotype for the competition, sms-invitations and professional and exclusive printings/invitations. We will also try with an open jury in front of the stage and of course it makes the briefing for the jury even more important.

This is just a few examples for you but we feel that we already have find the right way to make SBG more attractive for the members and, hopefully we will get the result of more new members and, make us stronger and a obvious organisation in the Swedish service business. The date of the competition is April 15 at the Hall of Mirrors at Grand Hôtel Stockholm, (main sponsor).

And most important, the alteration is based on the wish from our associated companies and our younger members that we feel important to listen to.

Thank you for taking your time and the Swedish board of SBG wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and please take a visit at our new homepages: http://www.sbg.nu/, http://www.aretsbartender.nu/.
