Every member knows the classic drinks. New drinks are made in
competitions and throwing the bottles also known as flair tending is
increasing in popularity.
In Finnish Championships organized by F.B.S.K as well as in
competitions organized by alcohol agencies are new fashinating drinks
created every year. Barpeople choose the best and some of them makes
classics. However, bartenders interest in developing new drinks remains
and a customer gets the experiences he's after.
In Finland we have three sorts of competitions: drink competition,
technique and flair tending. The Finland Championships winners in
flairtending and drinks are representing Finland in the Bartenders'
Olympic Games, that is the annual I.B.A. World Cocktail Competition.
There is no World Championships in technique - not yet.
In drink competitions, Finland (F.B.S.K.) has gained multiple medals in
all the colors as well in individual section as in the team competition
that was arranged few years back. Flair tending is a new form of
competing and still growing. Year 2000 was the first time for a Finnish
member to flair.
The interest toward flairing is growing fast and we
can expect succes in that too.
