How did winning last year in Las Vegas change your situation?
"After winning, I received a lot of different work, which was great as
it was in many countries - it was a great change. I had never won such
a major competition before and I secured new sponsorship with other
spirits brands such as Tres Plumas from Argentina."
Have you won other competitions?
" I won this year's 9th Pan-American Competition in Puerto Rico."
How was the crowd at this year's competition?
"I think the atmosphere was really good with the crowd and although
there are many Flairtending competitions around the world, this is one
of the best. You can't afford to make any mistakes."
How did you prepare for Helsinki?
"In June I started to compete again with a few events to be as prepared as possible for Finland."
What will the impact of winning for the second time be?
"I think I will have more possibilities to travel and enter other
competitions. Grand Marnier have also [just] had a meeting with me and
perhaps we can do something in Chile."
Would there be somewhere in South America that you would consider to be
influential for cocktail making?
"It would be Buenos Aires - that's the big city."
What was your reaction on winning again?
"This is like a dream for me as I have [only] been working for three
and a half years in this profession. And I only won by one point - it's
nothing."
